I have not gone out and bought an new amp for my Ashbory. I am currently using a mains powered 15 watt Marshall which is considerably better with the Ash than my Microcube but has anyone found another battery driven combi that works well with the Ash?

BTW. I do not need much power. I am backing up acoustic uke players but it would be useful if I could do it away from a mains power source.

I haven't tried that many of them, but I have been less than happy with the few I have tried. I haven't plugged an Ashbory into the largest of the Crate Taxi/Limo amps.

Crate made the TXB50 "Bass Buss" for a while, but I never played through one. They're discontinued. Here's the manual in PDF format:

If you find a nice battery powered amp, let us know!

I have an interesting recommendation - with a monetary reservation attached: The Phil Jones Briefcase. It runs about $600, but sounds as great as any acoustic amp out there (regardless of price). The interesting thing is, it is built with a compartment to install and use a 12volt battery. There are even posts on the cabinet to attach it to a 12v car battery.

You might try the Roland Mini Bass RX.

I've borrowed a Taxi Limo and it sounds great with my home-made Ash.
