I have no idea how to fix my D-string, should a take it to a music store, or is there a way for me to fix it?

Please explain a bit more about your D string problem.

What problem(s) are you having? Is a knot gone from an end? Did it snap? If it snapped, where did it snap?

What do you mean by fixing your D string? Did it break? If so, read more of this forum; the subject of breaking strings (mostly the G string) is addressed in several places.
