Ashbory Strings
« on: March 01, 2005, 03:52:52 PM »

Hi Everyone,

I just got my Ashbory and successfully took it out for a "spin" by recording with it at home.  Sounds great!  My question today is about the strings.  They continue to settle in (about 2 weeks now) but my G string looks white in color compared to the rest of my strings which have a dull almost transparent look to them. Does anyone know why this might be?

Thanks,
Jerry      :?

Not sure what the official reason is, I've just always put it down to the string being a smaller width and possibly at lower tension :?

Thanks, that's what I thought too, except the G string has greater tension than the lower ones do.  Anyway, it sounds like it has something to do with thickness and/or tension.

Thanks for your reply.
