How did you pick your color?
« on: July 16, 2005, 01:33:11 PM »

Which color did you pick?

why?

I'm not sure if I want the Ashbory to look more toy-like (blue), or look at me (red), or I'm cool (black)

My choice was easy - the distributor only has red when I ordered one!

I had a choice of red or black - if you're going to buy something as ridculous and wacky looking as an Ashbory why not go the whole hog and get one that's will be as visible as possible. So I chose the red. Never regretted it.

I got blue, but I bought mine 2nd hand so had no choice. I think I wanted a black one as it looked the least toylike, and a tad Steinbergery which fitted its minimalism.

I think the cream colour rocks, sadly not available any more. But when I get my custom Ashbo... I'll have it sunburst.

I ordered a red and a black one, cuz it wasn't clear which colour would be available first (Fender was out of stock completely when I ordered them).
Five months later the red one arrived... the black one would take another 2-3 weeks.
But I figured: I'm wearing black all the time, so a black Ashbory would be invisible on stage! Bought the red one, obviously...

Ashbory color -- why?
« Reply #5 on: July 21, 2005, 04:05:42 AM »

My first Ashbory was blue because when I was looking for one and succeeded in 1996, blue was the color of that instrument. (Used Guild Ashbory)

Later, when I got the DeArmond I use today, I stuck with blue.

When I bought my Ashbory from Brock, I asked which colors were most popular and he told me blue and black.  I chose red for that reason!

Excellent reason Mike!
If you're standing apart from the crowd for playing an Ashbory, you might as well go all the way, with the least favorite colour.. :D
As stated above, I got the red one too

What kind of different feelings do black, blue or red give you then?
