Mine was easy. Black, the best looking color there is.

I do not know how that happened.

Just ordered mine. Being a metal fan but with a great curiosity when it comes to basses, I chose black.

Blue.  The moment I saw it it mesmerized me.  Glowing like an Avatar character.

They don't do them in natural, to match all my other basses, so it had to be black to match my amp, speakers, cases, leads, and clothes.

Black.
I succumbed to my prejudices and bought something which I thought might not look too plastic.  I might yet get a red one as well (I want to try tuning one in fifths).

I'm in the process of purchasing, probably in the coming week. But I find red just like the basses shape plain ugly! (don't mean to offend anyone).
I had wished they created this bass like the MKII, more like a steinberger, a simple square stick with minimalistic looks, but I'm not willing to pay $1500 for a bass like that!

So I'm stuck with black and blue.
Black in my mind is so common, and I prefer the purplish blue compared to the original guild blue.
I think the blue is not too RED-IN-YOUR-FACE, and neither is it 'YOU-HAD-A-BLACK-ASHBORY?I-DIDN'T-NOTICE'-like.

Black definitely looks best, but is so common, and people won't notice the bass.

Therefor I'm looking into blue.

Like mentioned somewhere else, you could always paint it in whatever color you like!

I got black cause that was what they had. I like the way it disappears into the background and shows all it's flaws and goes with any kind of outfit - no matter how outrageous.

I just ordered mine today... I ordered a blue one because my 5-string bass is blue, my amp is an Acoustic with a blue pilot light and blue trim, my cable/tuner bag is blue, and the strain relief on my main amp cable is blue! After all that, I didn't dare tempt fate by ordering something different...

Mine's blue. Got it on eBay, and that's what there was.

My other basses (Yamaha RBX-270, Rickenbacker 4003, and Michael Kelley Dragonfly) are all natural wood (Alder, Maple, and Quilted Maple, respectively).

My bass teacher laughs every time I unpack the Ashbory, but he admits that it's got good sound.

I still haven't got an original one
but since I am lefthanded I would probalbly buy a black one, since it's the easiest color to match when covering the logo, which would be flipped upside down when converting it to a lefty - and the logo really doesn't look great when flipped

also a black one would be almost totally invisible, using pahoehoes and me wearing black all the time...
would kinda be a pun on the bass player cliché, being inaudible and invisible to most people  ;D

my selfmade lefty however will be blue (cornflower to be exact) which looks awsome when made into vintage roadworn kinda used style  8)
