« on: November 16, 2005, 11:09:15 PM »

Hi Y'all,

I now have some photo's from myself playing the Ashbory on stage, using my bongostand + a homemade holder...
The photos were taken during my first gig with Symphonic rockband 'Eyes Can't See'.
Here are the links (I can't post the images directly, sorry):

With regards to the "holder" part, the block you've cut the Ashbory-shaped hole out of...

I had silly but fun idea of getting a cheap old Strat body and cutting a chunk out of it into which I could slot my Ashbory. Good for preventing neck dive if nothing else.

Care to comment on the wisdom or otherwise of this idea?

You gotta have something 'hanging over' the Ashbory on the front, to prevend it from falling out...

You can see on my pics: the 'open part' of the holder (for the bridge and knobs) follows the contour of the Ashbory, but the wood extends over the ashbory to keep it firmly in place...

You gotta come up with a way to do something like that with the Strat body... Perhaps using the pickguard for this purpose...
Only problem is that the Ashbory will be at least as thick as the Strat. You could use pickguard material on the back as well, kind of a bottomplate...
Take good measurements! I didn't, and had to glue on extra pieces of wood to make the pocket deep enough  ...

Keep us informed,
Xrix.
