Lots of contributors talk about using their Ashbories (sp) for replicating upright bass sounds. Anyone fancy uploading them somewhere so I/we can hear?

Or, while we're at it, any other recorded Ashbo usage of which one is particularly proud?

And answer came there none.

Well, I'll start the ball rolling with an ickle thing I threw together the other day having DLed a drum track from the web (thanks Dave Marks) and jammed along. I'm not holding my hands up and saying it's a tidy bit of writing or playing (or recording), but it's the kinda taster thing I'd like to hear from others.

I haven't recorded any Ashbory playing yet (not something I'm proud of anywayz...).
I'm doing lots of recording in the next few days, perhaps I'll use the Ashbory at some point, and I'll definitely post it here then.

Your little song is pretty groovy. I particularly like the percussive sound used in the first half of the tune.
Is that just playing with a hard attack, or did you do anything special to get that sound?

Mere hammering-on. Hammer-onning.

Sounds very nice sir.

I keep meaning to write and record a solo piece for Ashbory but so far it hasn't happened, so the only recording of the Ashbory I have is on a track called "Weasels" which can be found at

www.myspace.com/alunvaughan

The "real" bass part is the Ashbory and the solo is a Cort Curbow 6 string.

Cheers,
Alun

Just found a recent recording I did with my Ashbory on Myspace -

www.myspace.com/amysinner

"Fever" is just vocals and Ashbory.

Here are a couple of tracks I have played Ashbory on.

1. www.pablo-fanques.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Look Of Love.mp3

Rough mix of band recording. Cover version.

2. www.pablo-fanques.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Goteborg.mp3

This was an FTP collab with one of my Friends in Sweden. He created a Wav file with (a poorly mixed) backing track + Vocal on the Right channel, and guide/programmed bass on the Left channel which I had to replace with my Ashbory part. Intonation and timing are all over the place but some of it's ok.

P.S These tracks will only be online for a short time.
