Greetings from Texas!...
« on: March 21, 2007, 04:18:23 PM »

New to this forum, and just ordered a new Ashbory from Brock.

I live in the Texas Hill Country (Canyon Lake), and have just noodling around with various guitars and basses, but only play with others about once a month at a friend's house (mostly 'Texas' music).  The other pickers are all acoustic, so the Ashbory seems like a perfect fit.  I've had a few acoustic/electric basses, but didn't care for their un-amped sound, and , once plugged in, I would just as soon had a Fender instead....then I stumbled onto the Ashbory Sound Clip, and that was it!  A string bass sound without an upright!  I have a small Peavey Minx bass amp, which I traded down to as the smallest I could find that still sounded OK....back in the day (early 60's), my amp was a Gibson Titan V, with two 15" JBL's, so this is all much "tamer", but should prove to be a sweet setup for living room/small venue use.  Can't wait to get my Black Beauty :-D

Just be patient--I ordered recently, and Brock and his wife were both in touch with me two days later.  I received the bass 4-5 days after the order was placed.  This is a legit operation, never fear.
