ashbory hard case
« on: May 09, 2008, 04:55:52 PM »

I've searched the messages and see a lot of creative solutions. Has anyone tried a baritone ukulele hard case?

Carlthilman@yahoo.com is no longer making cases. The viola cases seem a little small or not hard cases.  I've looked at rifle cases and bow cases too but these are mostly too large or pricey. I'll keep searching ebay but I wanted to reopen this thread and ask for solutions again. Thanks

Just tried it - the point on the head makes the instrument too long :-(

Reviving an elderly topic - I wanted a hard case for my Ashbory. A violin case looked as if it might do the job but was just too short. Other cases were too small, too big or hideously expensive. I finally found the right one - a shotgun case, from Treeline Products in the UK:

It was rather less expensive than that through their ebay shop.

That looks good, but doesn't the foam crush the Ashbory, because there are no cut outs for the bass ?

The foam is soft enough to crush - it's eggbox type foam. I was going to cut some out but it doesn't seem to need it.

I know expensive is a relative term, but after searching unsuccessfully last year, I had a nearby music
shop make one. They make custom speaker boxes, so it's very sturdy, and fits it just right. Was $70.
