RoadToad Scarab Semi-hollow Bass

I hope RoadToad doesn't mind me posting this but I thought you guys would be interested in seeing the Scarab Semi-hollow Bass with RoadToad Polyurethane strings (I've been using these strings on my Ashbory for almost 2 years now).

How do you like the Roadtoad strings? Are you using the standard tension set or the low tension set? I've been thinking about trying these strings lately, since breaking 2 g strings within the last month or so. Have you had any trouble with string breakage?

I bought 6 strings from Owen about 2 years ago.

The different thicknesses were .25", .21", .187", .156", .125" and .103.

I ended up using the .210 as the E, .187 as the A, .125 as the D and the .103 as the G

Ive been using these strings for 2 years. No breakages.

I should point out the sound has less sustain and is more of a thud sound compared to normal Ashbory strings...but that suits me as I'm using it as a pseudo double bass.

Thanks for the information about the Road Toad strings. I think I may be looking for the same kind of sound. I use the Ashbory for bluegrass, where uprights are the standard. Less sustain would be a good thing.

What advantage does the .125" D string give you over the .156" in the standard set?

I think I just liked the feel of that string more.
