Value of a Mk2
« on: October 13, 2009, 08:01:09 PM »

I've a Mk2 Black Ashbory from 1990 in VGC with the bag and some spare blue strings.

Am thinking of selling it, any thoughts on the value?

Thanks,

Bob M.

A pair sold earlier this year from the same seller. He traded one for a new Rickenbacker bass and the other went for $1200. From what I gathered, both were in excellent shape and with the bags.

With bag, I think you're looking at over $1000. There's only about 80 total ever made, so they're quite rare.

Just recently a friend in the UK just offered me one for $950 USD. It was in very good condition but did not have the original bag.
I have several MKII and I wouldn't sell mine for less than $1200USD.

$650 each is a smokin' deal! Wish mine had been that cheap!

I'm really glad to have a Mark II, but it doesn't get the play time of the DeArmond. I like the sound of the DeArmond better, and I don't know if it's the scale, pickup, electronics or a mixture of the three that makes the difference.
