"Tank!" -- by Yoko Kanno.

But that's just me.  Which are your favorites?

I enjoy playing "Saw Here Standing There" and "Nowhere Man" on the Ash.

So What is a good one! Do you have an example of your playing it? If I remember it's in D minor and then goes up to Eb minor - that could get a bit trickier with my fat fingers.

I also like Bass Folk Song from the Moon Germs album. I think Stanley Clarke wrote that one. The high notes are hard to hit in tune but I'll keep practicing.

I'd love to hear other examples of the Ashbory outside the context of a mix.

Thanks,

Amelia, from Jaco Pastorius playing in th CC Riders (live in NY series)

or
Havona, Jaco Pastorius playing in Weather Report, album Heavy Weather

Nomatter how you see it, Jaco was a genius, and always will be seen as the Mozart of the electric (fretless) bass.

I'm pretty limited, so I'm going with the Snakefarm reading of 'St James' (it's on YouTube), and Portishead's 'Glory Box'.

I have been having great fun with my Ashbory on reggae tunes.  "I Shot the Sheriff" and "I'm Yours" for now, but I hope to use it for more tunes in the future.
