20" scale, frets, hollow body, licensed by Kala from Owen Holt at Road Toad Music.  Tons of YouTube stuff!

It's definitely an impressive little instrument and it is available in a fretted and fretless version.  I really wanted one, but couldn't justify plunking down the money for it (approx. $500).  I picked up an Ash for half that, strung it up with the same Pahoehoe strings that come on the UBass, and I've been very pleased so far.

I played both. I wasn't impressed. My Mk II blows them away

I would like to see a hybrid with the best of both Ash and U-Bass in one instrument.
Eg. Passive/active with tone controls, 20" scale, fretted or fretless, Ashbory type shape but with much better balance.
One further improvement would be an adjustable bridge for action and intonation.

Ah well, I can dream.........
