Ashbory Manufacture origin
« on: June 16, 2010, 03:22:19 AM »

I'm considering to get my first Ashbory.

Would anyone here be able to point out if there are any differences in terms of quality, sound and feel between the Ashbory's made in Indonesia and those made in Korea? Any considerations before I make a purchase?

In all seriousness, it varies more by batch more than where it is made. Large Sound Commerce has had alarmingly high return rates from both Indonesian and Korean production. If I were buying a used Ashbory sight unseen, I'd be interested in knowing if it came with a user guide. If it does, we inspected it. It's good. The guide is also available for free, but if it came with it, it should be Large Sound inspected.

We've turned down a ton of Ashborys over the years, and those seem to make their way to retailers that carry the instrument as a part number rather than a genuine passion. When you get a good Ashbory, it's good. There's turds out there, though. We send those back though, sometimes twice.
