Hi, guys; has anyone else experienced this yet?: I picked up the
Ashbory today, and before I turned the volume up, I plucked the strings and
noticed a mysterious buzz/rattle that I hadn't heard before. Turning up the
volume, I could hear that this buzz came through the amp, so if it did it
before, I didn't notice (can't imagine why not). I was able to trace the
buzz to the back cover, the plastic cover over the battery/preamp
compartment. Tiny gaps had developed between the parts of the cover that
were held down by screws. There may be a better solution, but here's what I
did: removing the cover, I placed little pieces of duct tape just inside
the perimeter of the cover (but on the body), between where the screws go,
not too many, two each on the long sides, one each on the short sides. Just
to be sure, I also placed a little piece on the thick part inside each
screw. Voila', problem solved. A more elegant solution might be to line
the perimeter with thin foam tape, or, perhaps one could just put thin
spacers, like paper or fiber washers, at each screw, so the cover would just
"float" on the body, but I didn't have either one of these. I haven't heard
of this problem before; has anybody else had to deal with this?
