Good amp for the 'bory?
« on: March 06, 2011, 01:56:43 AM »

I've been testing out some amps, but sadly have to say that the ashbory is not like an electric bass in most instances,  but more like an accoustic upright.

That means that the best amps out there with deep sound are not really the best for this bass.

I've found an Eden amp with a D112XLT a good companion.
I also liked a Markbass amp with a 112 cab

I found that those amps which you can make boomy, like a Roland Basscube 100, a Gaillen krueger rig, and a Line 6 amp are very good companions for this bass!
All those amps that miss out on the fundamental frequencies and often sound boomy, sound best on the ashbory; while the expensive, pro model amps and cabs are run better on the bass.

I play mine through a Markbass 112

I've also hooked it up to an SVT

Both sound good
